Sydney's Birthday

Sydney's birthday was last week. She has been practicing on the Heelys that she got for her birthday. There seems to be quite the learning curve. No--I am not going to be one of those parents who let their kids run (or should I say skate) wild at Costco. Though it does seem fun. She is practicing on the kitchen floor until she doesn't fall so much. This picture was taken right before Spencer grabbed a handful of cake. Sydney decorated this cake herself with the sugary decorations that you buy from the grocery store. It was a hit (for me too).

Soccer

This is a picture of Sydney's soccer team. Since they moved to a larger field this year for her age group, she gets tired much quicker. Nate is very excited to start playing in the fall. In this picture, Sydney actually practiced smiling without sticking her tongue out through her missing teeth. Mission accomplished....to be continued.

Easter morning

The first few pictures are of the kids with their Easter baskets and going to church. I am always lucky to just get them all to be in the same picture let alone all smiling in the same picture. Spencer quickly figured out what this Easter basket stuff was all about and had eaten foil, chocolate and all before I could grab it from him. He would overcome every obstacle to gain access to the Easter baskets.

The next couple of pictures are of Spencer last night when I was putting him to bed. I had the lights on because I was using the computer, and he reached over his crib and grabbed Nate's Darth Vader mask on the desk. He then kept covering his face with it--I assume in order to make it dark? Boys are a different breed for sure! Sydney would have been scared silly of that mask at his age.

Easter Egg Hunt

The kids went to an Easter Egg Hunt at our local park this morning. It was FREEZING outside, so many of the fair-weather friends in our town bailed out and our kids scored big on the eggs. They do so many fun things as a community here. We will miss it when (and I guess I need to include the word "if") we move. Before the hunt, Matt and the Elders Quorum put on a ward breakfast outside at a different park at 8:00am. I was amazed that there were even 15 people there (including us)! It was so cold that Nathan just stared at his food and cried and said that he was cold, but SO hungry. What a kunundrum! So I put him in the car and fed him. A perfect solution! We wish you all a Happy Easter!

Ski Trip

Not only does Amanda now teach Aerobics, she has also picked up being a ski instructor on the side.
