Growing and Learning!

Amelia is a continual surprise. She is keen on observing and learning and fortunately/unfortunately she is very good at it. Most things she comes up with, I don't ever remember teaching her. Like this for instance:

I think I always start my posts by saying.............so once again I am way behind! And once again, I am way behind, so here is a giant post with some of the fun things we did this summer, I still have a lot to post but at least Im getting some of it done
some of us drove down to provo to do the bridal veil hike, it was kinda long and really hot, but it ended up being a great adventure. The kids were champs, with just a few whines here and there (and everywhere haha) next time I will be bringing the stroller, just a heads up if you ever do this hike!
we all brought lunches and had a picnic before we got started

cute henry

emma lily and meg

grace was filthy before we even got started!

amanda was 9 months pregnant!!! She is such a tropper!

at the end of the hike their is a playground, the kids were very excited to see that

our attempt for a picture with all the kids, just ignore the kids in the pic that dont belong to us and wouldnt get out of the way!!

This is how we all felt on the ride home!

emma has been taking ice skating lessons for a while now but this summer she started taking private lessons, she has improved so much! she just her own pair of white skates and a special glitter leotard just for skating. She has had some major falls and some awesome bruises but is a champ and gets right back up!

emma also started ballet and loves it!

of course a trip to the zoo

the boutntiful 24th of july parade

our bridal shower for kara was great fun, great food, and great conversation

these cousins love each other

Summer Meal that is worth Repeating...

I just emailed this recipe to Ang and then I thought..."Hey, this would be a quick and I'm sure appreciated post on the blog..." So I clipped and pasted it. Enjoy!!! This was one of my favorite meals somebody brought me after we had sweet Adelaide. Yummy!

Oriental Chicken Wrap
Dressing (really tasty)
1 C may
2 TB sesame oil
2 TB lemon juice
1/3 C sugar
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
5 TB milk

So she brought a brown bag filled with:
-package of small (8" I think) flour tortilla's
-package of sliced almonds
-2 can mandarine oranges
-package of dried cranberries
-package of crunchy chinese noodles
-lg ziplock full of shredded lettuce
-small ziplock with chopped green onions
-container of thin sliced grilled chicken
-dressing
For sides she included (my kids loved both of these...)
-bag of potato chips
-lg ziplock of cubed watermelon

She told me that she puts it all on the table and lets her kids construct their own masterpiece full of the stuff they love and my kids did really enjoy putting their own together or eating the ingredients alone. It was really a fun meal to get and I thought it looked super easy to throw together or to store the ingredients and have on hand for a later date. And all the ingredients together were so good to me that night! Happy summer cooking!
Good luck!!!
Love,
Amanda
